So, we went home to where I’m from the other week. Paula had a great time meeting the family that she hadn’t already met and hearing all sorts of embarrassing stories. She even got awarded a nickname from one of my siblings. Good show there.
Started me thinking about where we come from to come to this sport, if you see what I mean. So I’m hunting pics and stories of early on in your biking career, and what you think was funny or interesting or noteworthy. If your first ride was a super-cool X6 Hustler, or your first riding experience was at the age of two on the back of a Z50 with Ben Spies at the controls, or if you crossed the Himalayas on an Enfield Bullet, or if you did the Giro as a teen or whatever. Fess up with some stories for our entertainment during the winter months. Pics and Videos welcome:)
Here’s one of a friend of mine already twisting the throttle.

Send me an email with your story at paul@NPRDucati.com
He’s so Green. Doing his part for the atmosphere, keeping carbon on his bike instead of in the air.
Huh, Election’s over and economy is still the same. Whoda thunkit? Have you seen the price of synthetic oil lately?
So, to help out, NPR Ducati will pay for your oil (and recycle the old stuff for free, how green is that?) during each scheduled service from now until Thanksgiving. No strings, just clean golden fluid goodness. If you’ve been holding back, trying to save a buck or worrying about the price of insuring your Ducati’s dynamite Desmo, now’s the time before winter sets in!
Pickup and delivery available in consideration of your busy schedule. Just call the shop and we’ll get it set up.

The Diavel project was born when Ducati designers applied their wish-list of bike “basic instincts” to a blank canvas. With a “what if?” approach to creating a dream bike, they sketched inspiring shapes which became a lower and longer motorcycle. “The challenge of building a muscular silhouette over a pure-bred competition motor had to be met with determination and a delicate touch, and the result is a frontal area that looks like a power athlete on the starting blocks,” explains the team at Ducati Design responsible for the project.
Superior performance and confidence.
The stance of the Diavel is that of readiness, dominance, and confidence bordering on superiority. With lateral radiators adding muscle to its broad “shoulders,” which then taper down across the engine and into the belly-fairing with oil cooler, the athlete took shape.
Custom shop beauty, state-of-the-art technology, innovative design and extraordinary riding pleasure are masterfully blended into the Diavel, a motorcycle destined to shape the future, a motorcycle built by people who have earned the right to change the rules.
The Diavel is available in two versions: Diavel and Diavel Carbon, enriched with lightweight composites and milled aluminium components that meld the two worlds of sport and style with features that are both visually beautiful and functionally high-performance.
Scheduled to arrive in Spring 2011, this machine is another in the long line of Ducati dream machines, The Diavel is a true Ducati, born from a passion for motorcycling and designed to deliver authentic Ducati performance in every measure.

ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
To support our Walk team the four Athens Barberitos locations have teamed up with us to put on a percentage night next week. On Thursday, November 4th, Barberitos will donate 20% of your dinner (5pm to close) purchase to the ALS Association of Georgia when you bring in the attached flyer. So forward this to friends, family, clients, or clubs; print them out for trick or treaters, customers, or patients; and join us for a night of good food for a great cause!

This weekend sees Road Atlanta hosting the WERA Grand National Finals. This is the end of the season finale for amateur racing in the US. Expect close tough racing in the organization that brought you the likes of Nicky Hayden and Ben Spies before they were pros. Look for the NPR Ducati booth on the hill behind the pits, look for the Ducati canopies. We’ll have some Ducatis on display and root for our guys Mark and James in the Endurance race on Friday and Regional and National races all weekend. We’ll be having a picnic on Sunday afternoon at 1pm, ride over and come by and visit in the beautiful fall weather.

Well, off to Lost Wages for the Ducati Dealer Meeting. I am sure they’re going to have some surprises in store for us. Here’s some pics of past meetings. They have promised lots of excitement in the next 12 months, and I’m sure we will have plenty to cheer about. Apparently there’s a rumor that Rossi will be there but I highly doubt that.
Watch this space!

No spoiler since it’s still fresh this beautiful Sunday morning, but if you like racing, DO NOT MISS the MotoGP from Silverstone UK, on TV today at 5 pm on Speed. You will be on the edge of your seat. Faithful companion wondered what all the yelling and spilled coffee was about. Don’t miss it.
